Collecting deposits during the booking process
Stripe integration must be set up prior to collecting deposits.
Calculation Level
Property Wide
Property wide is one setting for the entire reservation a guest may make. This will allow you to set either a fixed flat fee or a percentage of the total.
Granular
Granular is more work to setup, but allows you to decide different deposit calculation strategies for each Unit and Addon. You can decide either a Fixed or Percentage for each Unit and Addon.
Calculation Type
No matter if you choose Property Wide or Granular. Then you need to choose either Fixed Dollar Amount or Percentage calculation.
Fixed Fee
If you want to just charge one flat deposit for reservations, you can specify an amount. During booking, the guest will be notified that amount is required to complete checkout.
Percentage of Total
If you want to collect a percentage on the total amount, you can specify that as well as Min and Max amounts. For instance, if you specify you want to collect 25% on the total. For a $1000 reservation, a minimum of $300 could be set if you want that to the be minimum amount, or you can set a maximum. For example, for a $10,000 reservation, you can specify that $2000 is the maximum to collection.
In addition to Min / Max, there is also a Round option that allows you to round to the nearest ($0.01, $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, $25.00, $50.00, or $100.00).
